A “Society” is an organized group of persons who deliberately comes together with an objective to serve society without any intent to earn profits. The registration of society is a matter of state jurisdiction. The application for registration of society is to be made to Registrar of Society in respective state.

Minimum 7 persons who have attained the age of 18 years can register a society in Rajasthan.

To what societies the Act shall apply:

Charitable societies, the military orphan funds or societies established at the several presidencies of India, societies established for the promotion of science, literature, or the fine arts, for instruction, the diffusion of useful knowledge, 1[the diffusion of political education], the foundation or maintenance of libraries or reading-rooms for general use among the members or open to the public, or public museums and galleries of paintings and other works of art, collections of natural history, mechanical and philosophical inventions, instruments, or designs.

Required Documents:

1. Selection of name
2. Application form in prescribed format
3. Self attested copies of Byelaws and objects of the society
4. Details of members of society such as name, fathers’ name, address and occupation ( Driving License/Voter ID/Passport)
5. Self attested copies of address and ID proofs of the office bearers (Aadhar/Driving License/Passport/Voter ID)
6. Aadhar of all promoting members of society (for OTP verification)
7. Affidavits of office bearers namely President, Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer with photo attested by Notary Public
8. Address proof of society:- Rent Deed if rented otherwise NOC from Owner
